THE BEAUTY OF THE KAPURPURAWAN ROCK FORMATION
Friday, May 22, 2015
The Rock Formations are truly an amazing scenario to feast your eyes on.
These
are the rock formations created by the forces of the ocean waves located at the coastal area of
Burgos, Ilocos Norte. My dad is actually a hundred percent pure blooded Ilocano, and we asked him what
does the "kapurpurawan" means. He told us that it came from the Ilokano word,“puraw”,
which means pure or white. Truly, it's so white and magnificent! Every part of
it is beautiful. We actually went there twice because it was raining the 1st
time we visited it.
According to our tourist guide, these Rock Formations turns even whiter during the months of April and May. Aside from magnificent rocks, the breath taking blue waters of the West Philippine Sea is also a delightful sight to see. The Rock Formation overlooks some windmills, which looks so perfect. We walked about a kilometer before we got in to the Rock Formations under the sizzling heat of the sun but it’s all worth it. Especially the luxury of enjoying the picturesque morning sunrise with perfect blue water and immaculately limestone in your views.

I don't know if this is psychological, but this opportunity to spend time with nature, away from the madness of the city and school agendas, gave me recharged energies and helped me appreciate the world more.
